Deep brain stimulators cure the disease totally. With deep brain stimulation surgery, “turning the clock of the disease back” is possible in the patients with Parkinson’s disease, but the surgery can’t cure the disease completely. The purpose of the surgery is to fix the hyperactivity of the cells which are responsible for the disease findings related to lack of dopamin in the brain. However, although Parkinson’s disease is a degenerative disease of the brain and the findings are eliminated, it’s not possible to stop the disease to progress.
