KOM A.Ş
ABOUT KOM
Founded in 1955 by Hasan Cansız, Kom began its production journey in a small workshop in Galatasaray, manufacturing underwear. In 1961, Kom moved to its factory building in Şişli, Bomonti, and invested in machinery to produce its own fabrics and lace. Around the same time, the company signed an additional licensing agreement with the American brand “Manhattan International” and started producing men’s shirts.
In the early 1970s, Kom’s underwear production volume expanded through an agreement with the American lingerie company “Hollywood Vassarette.” In 1978, Kom ended its men’s shirt production and signed licensing agreements with Italian and French swimwear companies, producing and selling their collections under the Kom brand in the Turkish market.
Kom’s growth continued throughout the 1980s. With investments in the knitting, dyeing, and printing factory Pisa Tekstil A.Ş., the company became an integrated facility for swimwear and underwear ready-to-wear manufacturing. In the early 1990s, Kom began creating its own collections with a design team composed of both Turkish and international designers. By the late 1990s, the company entered the retail sector by opening its own stores.
Since its founding, Kom has been committed to offering consumers the highest-quality products that are both trend-appropriate and timeless. Staying true to this mission, the brand continues its services with a vision of maintaining reliability while expanding its range of sustainable products — striving to contribute to a more livable world for future generations and to serve its customers for many years to come.
