Hiç; is a “Sustainable Food Production Ecosystem” inspired from the organic olive forest in Urla, Izmir City in Turkey.
A quaint town on a small peninsula in the Izmir Province, Urla has a history of olive oil production that is as old as civilization itself.
Urla is a peninsula in the center of the Aegean Sea where the sea and the soil are intertwined. Urla is comprised of history, traditions, natural richness and cultural heritage that is very well represented in its cuisine. Urla has been home to different cultures over the centuries and each one has contributed to unique food specialties.
” Organic Hiç (hich) Olive Forest, with its 60,000 olive trees, designs the future of food with a gastronomic experience as a whole from the forest to the plate. Duygu Özerson Elakdar ( ONAOO Professional Olive Oil Tasting Expert; Hiç Urla’ co-founder) & Taha Elakdar have moved to Urla in 2011. They started olive cultivation by taking over the Hiç Olive Forest from the Ministry of Agriculture. Hiç is today; the first company from Urla, Turkey to introduce extra virgin Turkish olive oil to America Whole Foods Stores.
Hiç Olive Forest is within the borders of Urla Bademler Village and is the largest edible forest of the Urla Peninsula. Within a 240 hectars forest area whose entire ecosystem has been preserved, Hiç Olive Forest have 60.000 olive trees planted spread around 145 hectars and all edible wild plants as well as olives are certified as Organic.

*Although the main operation of our facility is olive oil production, we utilize the edible wild plants we harvest each year from the Hiç Olive Forest by transforming them into value added herbal teas, sauces and jams.
