Product Code: 10

Laminar Air Flow Units
Laminar air flow should be used for ventilation systems conforming with the conditions specified in the standards for sensitive applications such as operating rooms, pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry and research laboratories. Laminar flow blowing systems meet the requirements specified in the standards with the hygienic ventilation technique used to distribute and filter air. Laminar flow blowing systems are assembled on the ceiling of the operating room, right above the operation table.
The system is composed of stainless steel air distribution box, HEPA filters, transparent air distributor (laminizator) and connection to the pendant lamp in the operating room. The laminizator provides a laminar (vertical) air flow directed towards operation table. Thus, particles and microorganisms present in the air flow zone are immediately removed from the ambiance and high level of hygiene is ensured around the operation table.
Laminar air flow units, laminar flow ceilings we manufacture are terminal units which provide the ideal ventilation in operating rooms and similar environments. They provide a terminal velocity within the range of 0.20 m/sec - 0.45 m/sec and laminar flow in the projection of their dimensions. By virtue of their most important characteristics, namely the laminar flow and HEPA filters, the level of particles and bacterial count at the end of the operation are extremely low. The positive ventilation they provide minimizes the anesthetic gas ratio.
Minimum amount of air to be blown into operating rooms according to DIN 1964/4 is 2400 m3/h and at least 50% of this amount should be fresh air. The laminizator is made of specially manufactured textile. The laminizator is stretched on an aluminum frame and fastened with clamps in a plenum box. Laminizators can be easily disassembled for changing the HEPA filter or periodical maintenance and cleaning and reassembled. Depending on the size, laminizators have either two or four parts and there is a 150 x 150 mm space at their joint in the middle.
This space is left for the lamp in the operating room and it is covered with a sealed collar having a 125 mm hole after the assembly. The plenum box is made of scoured steel plate coated with fired anti-static powder paint. If requested, they can be made of unpainted stainless steel or aluminum. There are either two or four HEPA filter housings in the plenum box depending on the size of the ceiling unit. The plenum box is encircled with a frame for elastic PVC or plexiglass shielding.
Plenum boxes are manufactured without a shield, with elastic PVC shield or plexiglass shield upon request. Standard length of the shield is 50 cm. Hepa filters are mounted in their housings inside the plenum cell with special airtight frames. The laminizator should be disassembled to change the filters. There is an airtight round damper at the inlet of HEPA filter boxes. Dampers are manufactured as manually or servomotor operated upon request. If requested, a differential pressure switch (sensor ?) is mounted on HEPA filter boxes which signals when the filter gets dirty.
